I am a self confessed motorcycling addict with a split personality, one being a banker 5 ½ days a week ,come Saturday the darker retarded side reveals itself, the formals have to go and make way for an armoured skin and a CAMELBAK.
I feel alive again ,back from a coma and absolutely addicted to rumbling engines, pistons of the size of garbage cans, fuel tanks designed in 1930’s, freight train sized headlights, chrome and custom paint.
Now this addiction of mine has taken me to almost the entire country and I have covered 35K kms in the last 10 mths on my Alberto Green Mach 500 which includes Mumbai – Goa(Home Runs) , Mumbai – Ooty(RM 09), Entire west Coast ( Little Rann – Kanyakumari) , Ladakh ( Lahaul & Spiti) and the machine just rules my soul now.
Would share Some of my favourites runs
1. More Plains : most of us have done it and love the open span , now throw in a bunch of 4 retarded addicts like me crossing the plains at 9 p.m.. picture this a cloud of dust -5 light beams – elbows high – crouched position – numb mind – speedo fluttering between 80-90 kmph … leave the rest to your imagination .
2. Reckong Peo – Nako: 2 bikes leaving peo at 5 p.m. to climb up to 10000 ft above sea level heading for the helipad at Nako , the hurry is to see the Night sky - Moon & Stars we spastics love them.
3. RM ‘ 09 – No leaves available luckily the RTMC boys organise it on a Republic day weekend , the RM has kick started on Saturday about the same time I kick start from Mumbai , 18 hrs later I find myself asking directions for Elk Hill ..
My latest addiction is the Coast to Coast – Enduro 48 – how do u like that , I have one Saturday off every month and this is what I plan to do with it , Mumbai (West Coast)- Machilipattam(East Coast) and back over the weekend .
Fortunately I have company on these crazy runs , unfortunately these boys are retarded and addicted too ..I believe life is what we make of it, and i’ll make it one hell of a ride. As the boys like to put in perspective "LA COSA NOSTRA"
