The route: Velkom Ranch (East Coast Road) - Besant Nagar

"It is not down in any map; true places never are."

An idea matured into a plan. A plan galvanised people into action. Action expressed itself into 38 bikes with their riders and pillions assembled at the Besant Nagar Brand Store, Chennai for the much-awaited East Coast Ride.

The motley crew comprised first timers with brand new bikes, the passionate regular dudes and of course a sprinkling of veterans from the Royal Enfield factory, to boot.

The group rode on the ECR and took a welcome break at Velkom ranch for refreshments and a look-see at the horses. A small planned detour along the Buckingham canal set everybody's spirits and enthusiasm free. With the big break being celebrated at the Golden Sun resort over breakfast.

The first move had been made and the pace had been set for a communion of hearts and machines for many rides to come.
