I got astride a brand new Royal Enfield Desert Storm 500, on a surprisingly hot for November, Mumbai morning, with 61 kilometers on the Desert Storm’s clock. Before the odometer read 70 kilometers, I was doing a heady 120 Kph on the Desert Storm 500, throwing caution to the wind. And no, I wasn’t stranded with a seized or struggling engine even after close to 1000 kilometers of ham fisting. Read more here:

The new model showcased by Royal Enfield at the Auto Expo 2012 at Delhi was the concept cafe racer that recalls the lines of the original ‘British’ Continental GT - a model that was quite popular in Europe in the late 60s - and it also shares the same 500 cc engine with its illustrious ancestor, but it has never been less ‘British’ than this. With the exception of its 500 cc single-cylinder unit, this new Continental GT is their first bike ever to have been completely designed in India, with no parts lifted from the historic English models of the past.
