Here goes...
Like almost everybody who owns a bullet, I too dreamt & wished & pined for owning this bike for an entire lifetime. I had made myself the promise that a Bullet would be the first thing that I would buy the moment I got into a job. Sure enough...i got placed on December 14th & on January 6th was riding out a spanking new Royal Enfield Electra 4 S. I dont remember another moment in my life when I have felt prouder...and I dont think that the smile that got pasted on my mug that day has ever faded. Infact it has only gotten wider & wider! Named her Maya - after the single feeling/emotion that I think she personifies for me!!Owing to job pressures etc ( I know, I know..same old cliched whine!) I havent been able to ride as much as I wanted to in the past year. however, did manage to fit in a South India trip of about 2000 odd kms covering Karnataka & Kerala & also managed to cover the entire (or almost enntire if you want to nit-pick) west coast of our country. Basically took the NH 17 from Trivandrum and followed it all the way up to Pen near Mumbai. Beautiful roads...even more beautiful countryside...a ride that I would highly recommend to any Bulleteer (heck..any motorcyclist!!) who has about 10 days to spare. Next on the agenda is a 10 day Uttaranchal ride in October. Will keep posting the details!
One the bike front...all through the 14000 kms to date there has never been a wayward squeak or a niggle. Flawless is the word. just got the silencer changed to a Goldstar & if anyone thought that perfection could not be improved upon, well...here's the most stellar example! It always rode like heaven and now sounds like heaven too!! |
