The Himalayas greeted the riders with rain and fog, setting the tone for an adventurous day. Riders pushed through low visibility and wet roads, keeping spirits high as they tackled winding climbs and mountain twists. A true Himalayan welcome!

Basic first aid training on this day followed by a briefing made sure that all understood the basic principles of riding together as a team in the mountains. These learnings and practices will hold them in good stead not just for Himalayan Odyssey but also for future rides to come.

A diverse contingent of 77 riders gathered in Chandigarh from the length and breadth of India, along with adventure enthusiasts from Germany, South Korea, the US and more. This day was all about preparation for a motorcycle journey of a lifetime, including final checks on the motorcycles, safety gear and a get together to break the ice with all riders.

A good sign of a ride done well is bright faces at the end of the day and despite heavy rains along the way, Team Zanskar had an incredible experience riding through lush green valleys, several tunnels, and making pit stops at local eateries. After 265 km of smooth tarmac and twisties, the group is now in Manali for a quaint evening.
