Embark on your first biking day, departing Salta to venture north on the winding Route 9. Enter the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Quebrada de Humahuaca, a mountain range displaying a captivating spectrum of colours. Navigate a 30-mile track along the Condor pass at 4,000 metres altitude, reaching the remote village of Iruya, surrounded by cliffs.

Set out at dawn to possibly witness condors soaring from their nests. Head towards the Bolivian border to Cusi Cusi, located at 3,800 metres altitude and home to the enchanting Moon Valley. Spend the night in this secluded village hidden away from the world.

Leave Cusi Cusi and follow Route 40 for excellent riding stretches. Route 9 takes you to Abra Pampa, and the day concludes in Humahuaca, a charming city nestled in the Quebrada de Humahuaca valley.

Take Route 52 towards Salinas Grandes and conquer the famous Cuesta de Lipán. Traverse salt flats for a unique biking experience. Leave the vineyards behind and continue southbound. Deviate from Route 40 to explore the Quilmes Ruins, a sacred site with the remains of a forgotten civilization. Pass by Capillitas, known for mining rhodochrosite deposits. Enjoy 28 miles of twists and turns on a wild track leading to Andalgalá.
