As a Programme Manager for Royal Enfield you will be part of the Global Technical Organisation and report to the Group Manager - Programme Management
The role will involve working with cross-functional teams in Industrial Design, Product Development, Quality, Procurement, Genuine Motorcycle Accessories and Sales & Marketing. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to market on time, in full (OTIF), adhering to stage gate deliverables set out in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Previous experience in Project Management will give you a distinct advantage in eliminating possible timing issues before they arise internally or externally. You will be a strong, effective communicator and influencer ensuring all dependencies within the Programme Management team (and outside) are completely understood & aligned when it comes to delivering product on time to meet the commercial business objectives.
Key responsibilities
Program Planning
Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the NPI process and specific objectives of the company
Maintain a high level timing plan in order to drive the cadence of the program
Support the development & acceptability of the function level detailed timing plans to ensure Deliverables and Milestones are being managed on a day to day basis
Support the individual functional areas in producing and submitting annual budgets and operating plans
Organise the Program
Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
Ensure all project related meetings are scheduled, attended and minuted, chairing when appropriate
Ensure continuous stakeholder buy-in to the project
Consistently provide clear and accurate project documentation, ensuring accurate project reporting to Senior Management on a regular basis
Lead the Program
Apply project metrics and risk management principles to identify and mitigate potential schedule impacting items
Encourage and motivate project team members to accomplish assigned tasks
Drive the overall progress of assigned projects towards completion, using good judgment in determining when to escalate issues to management
Understand interdependencies of, and, develop good relationships between the members of the cross functional project team
Leverage strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build a high performing team of indirect reports
Control the Program
Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities, working with the project team to determine the appropriate mitigation and contingency plans
Ensure the program business case is up to date and reflects the current objectives and ability to meet those objectives
Ensure change to product requirements and specification are proposed, approved and communicated in a timely manner, to all key stakeholders.
Continually monitor the program activities and take appropriate action to keep the project on plan
Success metrics of the role
As Programme Manager you will be measured on OTIF delivery on various goals and performance indicators. These will depend on the focus area for the year. Overall success of your role will depend on the following measures but not limited to:
Adherence to the company’s NPI process
Delivery of the overall programme and its activities in line with the stage gate deliverables set out in the NPI process
Identification and resolution of key programme risks as they arise, and taking appropriate action as required to keep the project on plan
Support the Group Manager - Programme Management with process improvement
Scope and Impact
You will be responsible for ensuring Motorcycle Projects are delivered on time and in full. The Programme Management team is split between the UKTC and Chennai, India and sits within the GTO (Global Technical Organisation) but also links into the GCO (Global Commercial Organisation) in terms of procedures and operating systems. The Programme Manager is an influential & critical role for the business which ultimately drives key decisions daily whilst providing visibility of project readiness that enables us to achieve our business objectives.

What are we looking for?
Qualified to degree level with 5+ years relevant experience in a similar role
Formal Project Management training qualification (APMP, PRINCE2 or similar) preferred
Knowledge of Programme Management process
Knowledge of motorcycle design and development process preferred
