Himalayan Odyssey has been an annual rite of passage for riders from across the globe. For 2026, we are pushing the boundaries further with the Explore Edition. This edition is a deliberate return to the raw, unadulterated spirit of adventure that defined early exploration in Ladakh. Unlike our fully-supported tours, Explore focuses on the "unfrequented" and the "untouched". Ladakh’s terrain is an unforgiving masterpiece of crumbling screed, deep water crossings, and high-altitude deserts that demand respect. This ride is aimed at intermediate adventure riders who crave a grit-over-glamour experience. We are stripping back the extensive backup to harken back to the days of pure, self-reliant discovery. It is an adventure that brings the highest of the Himalayas up against the will of the riders and the might of the Himalayan.

Day 01
Check into our base hotel in Leh. This high-altitude town is one of the oldest inhabited places in the region. The evening features introductions and a welcome dinner as we begin our acclimatization process.
Day 02
A vital day for permit processing and physical adjustment to the altitude. The journey ahead is long and technical. Today we get familiarized with the necessities, the off-road "dos and don'ts," and the raw support structure of the Explore edition. This is the final day of preparation before the epic ride.
Day 03
We cross the mighty Khardung La to enter Nubra, a stunning high-altitude cold desert. The ride introduces us to the sandy terrain and dramatic transitions between rocky peaks and lush riverside patches.
Day 04
Ride to the northernmost edge of India. Turtuk is a unique cultural oasis with a rich history, recently opened to visitors. The route winds through stunning valleys and gorges, with breathtaking views of the Karakoram range.
Day 05
Prepare for a technical day as we ride along the Shyok River. Pangong Tso is a sacred destination for many, situated at extreme altitude. The landscape transitions from arid high-altitude terrain to the brilliant turquoise waters of the lake.
Day 06
Navigate the remote Changthang plateau toward Hanle. This region is home to one of the world's highest astronomical observatories. The ride is scenic and thrilling, taking you through the heart of the most desolate parts of the Himalayas.
Day 07
Today we conquer the highest motorable road in the world. Umling La offers stunning views of the Himalayan range. The thin air and steep ascent provide the ultimate test for the intermediate adventure rider.
Day 08
The return journey begins as we ride toward the deep blue Tso Moriri. This lake is flanked by some of the widest plains and tallest mountains, offering a sense of scale that is truly humbling.
Day 09
Reaching Leh marks the end of this fantastic journey. We invite all participants to a small ceremony commemorating our self-reliant adventure in the high mountains before checking out the following morning.
