BYOL Design Challenge
Sketching motorcycles have always been a hobby for me and like many others I have dreamed about building my own custom motorcycles.
When Royal Enfield briefed on building a custom cruiser that would fit myself,(as a person traveling 120 km back and forth to work) I knew what exactly, I would want. For me a good cruiser should have the ability to allow you to stretch your legs and should provide comfortable riding stance. It should make long journeys enjoyable. I always loved the sensation of sitting ‘in’ a motorcycle rather than on it.
Hence went on to design a longer wheelbase version of the Meteor. I lowered the bike, raised the seat and pushed forward the already forward set foot pegs on it.
I believe, I created a motorcycle that I would ride daily to work and elsewhere.
Aesthetics was a priority while designing it, but I tried my best to make sure that form does not compromise function.
PS: Captain Steve Rogers from ‘The Avengers' helped me chose the paint scheme. Hence, I would name it ‘The Captain’.
