The region that is governed by spiritual leaders, monasteries and religious institutions shows its importance and prestige by the size and magnificent architecture of these buildings. Extremely remote and isolated by the most formidable Himalayan ranges, Tibet is a fascinating world of timeless splendor, unique tradition and breathtaking scenery.
The Roof of the World will take decades to travel through books and texts but a motorcycle adventure to this forbidden Kingdom will renew senses for years to come. This May we ride to this enchanting land to capture the adventure quotient for ourselves and delve into an experience of a lifetime.

Day 01
Check into Hotel Manaslu in Kathmandu. Introductions all around and then the evening sees a welcome dinner for all.
Day 02
It’s Monday, the offices open for the week so we can process a world of permits on this day. As we are crossing the border into Tibet, this is a vital day for completion of formalities.
Day 03
Briefing day ! The journey ahead is long and the best thing to do is to get familiarized with the necessities, the dos and don'ts as well as how the coming days are going to be framed. We prepare this day for the epic ride.
Day 04
We hit the last post in Nepal today. Ride up to Timure, onwards to the mountains. The next day is long, not because of the ride but because of the border formalities.
Day 05
Don’t say we didn’t warn you ! The border formalities will take up most of the day and by the end of day we would have ridden all of, wait for it, 45 Kms! Relax. We’re in Tibet now!
Day 06
Thus starts our foray into the roof of the world. Though the distances look long, one look at the roads of Tibet and you’ll dispel all doubts of discomfort and fatigue. We reach the town of Tingri today in good time.
Day 07
While the distances look formidable now on your device, rest assured that the sights of the Himalayas and the tallest mountains in the world will capture all your attention while you ride to Shigatse.
Day 08
The Forbidden City awaits! As we head to Lhasa today you’ll come across perhaps the most beautiful road you’d have ever traveled on. The culmination of 3 days of good riding will see you settled comfortably in Lhasa for the night. What dreams are made of !
Day 09
Spend these two days touring the Potala Palace, considered as the seat of Buddhism and the largest buddhist monastery in the world. Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street are on the menu for exploring this highland kingdom.

Day 11
We bid farewell to Lhasa today and return to our adventure on the highland roads of Tibet. Riding through Yamdrok Lake & Karo La Glacier, we will arrive at Gyantse, a town on historical trade routes between Tibet and Sikkim in India.
Day 12
We reach Shegar today which is the administrative capital of Tigri County in Tibet. This town is called the Gateway to Mt Everest as all routes to Mt Everest Base camps begin from here. Beautifully laid out, one can see striking modernity here in the middle of nowhere.
Day 13
Today we reach Kyirong, a place we have been to before. Indicative of the penultimate leg of our journey, we settle down tonight and prepare for the one-shot journey the next day to Kathmandu.
Day 14
Reaching Kathmandu and marking the end of this fantastic journey, today we invite all participants to a small ceremony commemorating our adventure in the high mountains.
