If you have always been intrigued by the knack of an angler and have thought of catching a fish sitting snug in a boat, gently bobbing up and down on the water, then this experience is one that you should look at. The Rivulets crisscrossing the mangroves in Goa offer ample opportunity for enthusiasts to try out their hand at local fishing or angling. There are ample interesting species of fish available in rivers to feed the intrigue of budding anglers.
The Attraction
Angling and Fishing have always been native to Goa but have been an activity that has not got its popularity so far. The thrill of spotting and catching and seeing these various species of native fishes up close and personal definitely is one of the biggest attractions of this experience. The other interesting facet would be learning the tricks of the trade from expert anglers who will teach you the techniques on how to make them nibble the bait with surety.
Itinerary
These Fishing sessions last for about 2 hours and typically starts at 8 am and the slots would go on till about 4 pm. This is essentially a trip on a small boat seating 4 people at the max, going around the river through the Chapora mangroves. Timings may change The session would involve getting knowledge about the different fishing equipment and learning how to change hooks and cast them into the water.
The seating capacity of the boat has been kept at 4 people max to ensure safety and avoid overloading. Life saving equipment would also be available. Ideal time of the session would also change keeping tidal timings in mind for the safety of the people. The experts will also lay emphasis on how to safely change hooks and cast the line to avoid any mishap or injury to fellow anglers.
The tricks on how to set up the hook, line and sinker as well as identify the best spot to cast the line and wait for the fish to bite the bait is well known to the expert angler who has a keen eye on the currents and can predict behavior of the shoal underwater. These tricks shall be taught in this session through easy demonstrations and hand on experiences to cast a line and haul in that snapper.
