Royal Enfield rider Winterwanderer Akhtar – as he calls his YouTube channel – rides the Royal Enfield Classic 500 and the Himalayan. He likes discovering new places and vlogs as much as he can, using his GoPro hero 3 SILVER and GoPro 5.
He rode to Unroad Maharashtra (from Jan 24-28, 2018) at Tapola, situated in the lush Western Ghats and has shared the experience of the ride that took him off the beaten track to experience adventure on a Royal Enfield. He, along with the other riders traversed unexplored routes through uncharted stretches of highlands, ascents, descents, and twisties through the forest trails in and around the Valley of Flowers at Kaas plateau and Tapola Lake, situated 25 km from Mahabaleshwar.
For many of the riders, this was the first time
they were riding through such adventurous terrain. It was tough but worth every
bit of the thrill. Winterwanderer Akhtar has beautifully captured the struggle
of the riders, as they traversed broken, mud tracks, often struggling to pull
the rear wheel out of the potholes. For the riders – as shown in the video – it
was also an opportunity to meet the local people, help each other during
accidents, bond over meals with each other and fully test the capability of
their Royal Enfield motorcycles while off-roading.
